a ranger primary farming has always been a big no. i have no idea how a ranger primary could farm. maybe switch to monk secondary, use the monk farming method along with marksmans wager to keep energy up, or with a mesmer bring echo/arcane echo and spam flame trap every 3 seconds and then use dust/barbed. use stances to keep urself alive along with troll urgent(sp?) or healing spring. thats the only method i could fathom right now...

and as for farming spots griffons and tengu are ur best bet

You can farm with a ranger; its not easy but it can be done. You need to equip two evasion stances (escape and whirling defence) and throw dirt. each time you activate a stance (or throw dirt) use troll ungeunt to keep going. Combine this with as much fire power s you can; i use ignite arrows with point blank shot; dual shot and determined shot. In this way you can take on upto two lvl 20 minotaurs and two sand drakes at a time (that should let you know where to go!) It takes a bit of practice; but once you get the hang of it it works ok. Its nothing like monk farming; but at least it requires some skill, and you can make reasonable money.

Farming with a ranger is so easy.... You can easily solo Riverside mission (which I have and got a superior smite rune). Also the oink spot is so easy with a Ranger if you just have judges insight, conjure flame, or ignite arrows. (This place although easier is not as good in my opinion) Sand drakes are also very simple to take down by poisoning. So blah! (Also as a R/Me I reccomend using this) Hunters Shot, (bleeding) Troll Ungent, Poison Arrow/Apply poison, whirling defence, storm chaser, lightning reflexes, conjure phantasm, another life degen move/res sig. (depending if you are soloing or not) This build makes it SO easy just be sure to use whirling defence and lightning reflexes when needed. And if you are in over your head just use storm chaser and run!
